Who is the Youth Business Market For?

The Youth Business Market is for our younger generation. From ages 5 - 17, these individuals will get the opportunity to learn about business and enjoy the art giving a service and the value of a dollar.

Why the Youth Business Market?

It is more than just a Lemonade Stand. The Putnam County Youth Bureau and Friends are teaming up to offer a hands-on way for youth ages 5 to 17 to learn about small business by selling their products and services to the public during Youth Business Market held at Tilly Foster Farm on June 8th.

What can our youth sell at the Youth Business Market?

Your youth can sell a variety of things for the possibilities are endless when you use your imagination. The categories are:

  • Crafts
  • Food
  • Collectibles
  • Services

Keep in mind that when submitting your registration
all ideas MUST BE APPROVED before we can
confirm your application.

How does the
Youth Business Market Work?

We treat this as if your youth is a vendor at a Farmers Market or Trade show. You (the parent) will sign up with your child/teenager and get a permit. Come up with a name for your group that would act like a business name. Then you will tell us about what youd like to sell. We will then approve your application

What to Expect

As a Patron

You will come and check in, you will be handed a number and tickets. That number correlates to your shopping time, and the tickets correlate to the kids you have registered. You can choose 2 gifts per child you registered.

While waiting for your time your child can have a snack in the lobby, once done, you can head into the auditorium. There will be craft activities and a movie in there for the kids to participate in. You will also have the chance to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus if you choose.

Once your number is called, the kids stay in the auditorium, and you come to the back room to choose gifts. While in the back room, there will be refreshments for you and toys for you to choose from.
There will be volunteers to help guide you to the best gifts for your child, then you can bring the gifts to be wrapped. You will be given a bag to hide the gifts in and given a chance to bring the gifts to your car to hide.

Please keep in mind that if you are giving your child the gifts at the event, please do it after you have left.
