Youth Aide
Putnam County Youth Bureau is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time position of Youth Aide.
Work involves assisting in the development and implementation of a variety of youth based programming including content creation. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Youth Bureau Executive Director, Youth Service Specialist, and Youth Program Specialists. Teamwork and initiative are important aspects of this work. Performs related work as required.
SOME TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Assists with the development of Mentoring/Adventure Camp program content;
- Assists with the development of Youth Court program content;
- Assists with the development of SIDNE program content;
- Organizes and leads planned activities;
- Tracks and keeps records of equipment and supplies used;
- Works collaboratively;
- Facilitates groups;
- Networks with other persons involved in a myriad of programs;
- May operate a variety of office equipment to maintain records of attendance, equipment, vendors, programs, etc.;
- Uses computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word processing , calendar, e-mail and database software in performing work assignments
- Performs a variety of related activities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school, or a comparable diploma, and one (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with youth of diverse populations, including at-risk youth, recruiting for, developing, and administering youth programs and activities.
PLEASE NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.
SUBSTITUTION NOTE: Post-secondary level education may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience indicated above on the basis of thirty (30) college credits per year of experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted, appropriate level driver’s license, and acceptable driving record are required at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Candidate must be fingerprinted and pass a drug test prior to employment.
PAY: $21/hour
SCHEDULE: 20 hours/week through 2026, pending reapproval for 2027.
