ABOUT PROJECT HOPE

"Giving people to the tools to save lives." Has been our firm belief that if we can provide information, education, and resources and the aid that is needed we will be one step in the right diretion of saving someone who is in need.  We are a group of individuals that are from different organizations that are putting our resources and ideas together to come up with solutions on fighting depression and self harm.

SUICIDE PREVENTION

Everyone has a role to play in making our community suicide safer. These 'gatekeeper" trainings are designed to help participants recognize someone who is at risk for suicide and put them in touch with suicide prevention resources, thereby saving lives! Be the one to save a life!

CRISIS INTERVENTION

When someone is in crisis, every minute counts. Putting time and distance between a person who is actively thinking about suicide, and any form of lethal means SAVES LIVES!
Firearms are the most lethal among suicide methods. Also of concern are medications that are lethal at high doses.

COPING AFTER A LOSS TO SUICIDE

On behalf of the Putnam County LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team, a program of the Putnam County Department of Mental Health, please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one. We recognize the immense pain and grief that comes with such a loss, and we want you to know that you are not alone during this incredibly difficult time.

HOW CAN I SIGN UP AND GET INVOLVED?

Healing Conversations is a one-time visit (phone, virtual, in-person) that connects those who have lost a loved one to suicide with trained volunteers who are also survivors of suicide loss. The goal of this connection is to help recent survivors navigate this challenging journey by offering support, connection and resources.

To become a volunteer, the first step is completing the chapter volunteer intake. Help others in their journey through their early days of grief, become a Healing Conversation Volunteer.
