Claremont Trio performs piano trios by Brahms, Fauré, and Kinan Azmeh at the Chapel Restoration's Sunday Music Series
Cold Spring, NY, June 2025 – The Chapel Restoration’s Sunday Music Series continues its 25th anniversary season with a performance by the Claremont Trio on June 15, at 4pm. The program features Fauré’s Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 120 and Brahms’ Piano Trio in C Major, Op. 87, along with “Gravitas,” a piece recently written for the ensemble by the clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh. The concert at the historic landmark on the banks of the Hudson River is free; donations are encouraged.
Lauded as “one of America’s finest young chamber groups” (Strad Magazine), the Claremont Trio is sought after for its thrillingly virtuosic and richly communicative performances. First winners of the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award and the only piano trio ever to win the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the Claremonts are consistently praised for their “aesthetic maturity, interpretive depth, and exuberance” (Palm Beach Daily News).
The trio has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Library of Congress, the Kennedy Center, Isabella Stewart Garnder Museum, Boston’s Celebrity Series, Chicago’s Dame Myra Hess Series and regularly appears in concert series and chamber music festivals across the US. As orchestral soloists they have performed Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Nashville Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Pacific Symphony, and Utah Symphony. Comprised of twins Emily Bruskin, violin, and Julia Bruskin, cello, and pianist Sophiko Simsive, the trio members are all based near its namesake, Claremont Avenue in New York City.
The Chapel Restoration is located at 45 Market Street, directly across from the Metro-North Train Station. Parking is free on Sundays. This project is made possible, in part, through the Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant Program with public funds provided through the NY State Council on the Arts with support from the Governor’s Office and the NY State Legislature and with public funds from Putnam County.
