SUMMER EXHIBITION: Floral Adventures

Eric Arctander Gallery at the Putnam Arts Council, Mahopac

through August 3, 2025

Floral Adventures is currently featured in the A. Eric Arctander Gallery at the Putnam Arts Council, 521 Kennicut Hill Road, Mahopac, New York.  The exhibit features 139 pieces of original fine art created by 75 artists from across the region and features drawings, paintings, photographs, mixed media, and ceramics.  The exhibit is sponsored, in part, with public funds from Putnam County and through Corporate sponsorship from Tompkins Bank.

The Jeanne Demotses Awards of Excellence were selected by Tooraj Pourmand, a professional artist and educator.  As juror for awards he selected the following:

Best in Show –a color photo by Ira Leff of New Fairfield, CT.
Second – a color photograph by Scarsdale resident Julie van Benthuysen
Third- a mixed media piece by Kelly Edwards of Carmel, NY

Honorable Mention - an oil painting by Lynn Burkett of Carmel, NY
Honorable Mention – a watercolor by Carmel resident Maria Calegari
Honorable Mention – a pastel by Yorktown Heights resident, Cecily Dunham-Harvey

This exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for regional artists to showcase their recent work in a professional gallery setting.  The A. Eric Arctander Gallery is open to the public and free of charge through August 3 with remaining gallery hours on Sundays, July 27, and August 3, 2-5pm and Wed., Thurs, and Fri., 1-5pm or by appointment. 

 Closing event:  Artist Talk: 3-4pm on Sunday, August 3^rd – free & open to the public – meet the artists and learn about their art, their inspiration, and their process.
