Cold Spring, NY, September 2025 –Trio Raconteur returns to the Chapel Restoration’s Sunday Music Series to perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trios No. 1 and No. 2 on Sunday, September 7 at 4pm. The concert at the historic landmark on the banks of the Hudson River is free and open to all. Donations are encouraged.
Brought together through a love for trio repertoire, especially the French masterpieces, Trio Raconteur is a New York-based ensemble that formed in 2019 and performed its first concert that year at the Chapel Restoration. Amy Schroeder, two-time Grammy Award winning first violinist of the Attacca Quartet and Felix Umansky, cellist of the Grammy Award winning Harlem String Quartet, are joined by pianist Yalin Chi.
Amy Schroeder has been hailed by the Washington Post as ‘an impressive artist whose playing combines imagination and virtuosity.’ She has soloed with orchestras including the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Amherst Symphony, the Clarence Symphony, and the Hilton Head Symphony. As a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Attacca Quartet, Ms. Schroeder’s appearances include with the Spanish National Orchestra with composer John Adams conducting, and the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra with Marin Alsop conducting. Praised for his “sublime” playing by Cleveland Classical, cellist Felix Umansky is a frequently sought-after recitalist and pedagogue. His versatile career has taken him all over Europe as well as North and South America where he has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls including Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. Pianist Yalin Chi made her début with the Central Opera Orchestra before moving to the United States to study at Interlochen Arts Academy. Yalin has performed at venues including Alice Tully Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Kumho Art Hall in Seoul, Korea, and ZhongShan Music Hall in Beijing China, and is the principal pianist at the Hudson Valley Symphony Orchestra and the West Point Band.
