The Real Meaning of Memorial Day
27 May 2022
A message from Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell
As we approach the holiday weekend and the unofficial start of summer, please remember the real meaning of Memorial Day and take time to honor the sacrifices of those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and gave their lives to protect our country and our safety. We thank them, their families and loved ones and hold their memories dear.
In honor of the holiday, ShopRite gave a $55,000 grant to the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Vet 2 Vet Program of Putnam County, an organization that provides peer networking services for veterans and active military members.
Enjoy the weekend and be grateful for the freedoms we Americans share.
