Putnam County Seeking Applications for New Board of Ethics Members
Carmel, NY – Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne today announced that Putnam County is seeking qualified residents to apply for appointment to the Putnam County Board of Ethics, a vital body responsible for upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct within county government.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a brief cover letter and resume to the Putnam County Executive’s Office at
In accordance with the Putnam County Charter, members of the Board of Ethics are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the Putnam County Legislature. The Board plays a critical role in fostering transparency, accountability, and public confidence by administering and enforcing the ethical standards set forth in the Putnam County Code.
“Maintaining strong ethical oversight is essential to good government,” said County Executive Byrne. “We are looking for individuals of integrity, sound judgment, and professional experience who are willing to serve the public and help ensure that Putnam County government continues to operate with transparency and trust.”
Upon taking office, the County Executive re-constituted the Board of Ethics after it was discovered that all prior members had been serving with expired terms. The Legislature confirmed the appointments of a new board following a public recruitment effort and a thorough vetting and interview process conducted by the County Executive’s Office.
The Board of Ethics serves county officers and employees, as well as the public, by providing guidance on ethical matters, reviewing disclosures, and reinforcing Putnam County’s commitment to the highest standards of integrity in government.
