Lunch & Learn: Putnam County Seeks Input at Climate Adaptation Webinar - Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 12:00pm

06 April 2026

All residents and employees who live and work in Putnam County are invited to attend an educational webinar about Putnam County’s Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Plan (CCARP).  The webinar will provide a beginner-friendly overview of climate adaptation and an opportunity to learn more about the Plan, ask questions, and provide feedback on what Putnam County can do to adapt to a changing climate.

After the event, there will be additional ways to share feedback on the CCARP for those who are unable to attend.

The CCARP is a planning effort between Putnam County and the Hudson Valley Regional Council (HVRC); the project is fully funded by the NYS DEC Climate Smart Communities Coordinator Services Program. The CCARP will help the County plan for a safer, healthier, and more resilient future by identifying climate risks and ways to reduce them.

The CCARP builds on Putnam County’s existing work through the New York State Climate Smart Communities Program (CSC).  The County is currently a Bronze-Certified Climate Smart Community, and once completed, the CCARP will continue the County’s progress towards Silver Certification.

Community input is essential to this planning process. The CCARP has already gathered public feedback through a Climate Vulnerability Assessment Survey and Vision Statement Survey, and we need your help to ensure the Plan reflects the community’s priorities. Feedback shared during this event will directly shape the strategies included in Putnam County’s CCARP.

The meeting will be held online on Tuesday, April 21st, from 12:00-1:00 pm.  Please register at https://tinyurl.com/PutnamCCARPCommunity, or by scanning the QR code below.
