Resolution #158, APPROVAL/ LOCAL LAW TO AMEND CHAPTER 55, SECTION 55-12 OF THE PUTNAM COUNTY CODE ENTITLED “BOARD OF ETHICS ESTABLISHMENT; QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; TERM OF OFFICE”
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held before the County Executive of the County of Putnam at Room #102 of the County Office Building, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York 10512 on the 30th day of July, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. concerning:
APPROVAL/ LOCAL LAW TO AMEND CHAPTER 55, SECTION 55-12 OF THE
PUTNAM COUNTY CODE ENTITLED “BOARD OF ETHICS ESTABLISHMENT;
QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; TERM OF
OFFICE”
Amending the Code of the County of Putnam, as approved and adopted by the Putnam County Legislature on July 7, 2026 by resolution #158, by amending Chapter 55, the Code, entitled “BOARD OF ETHICS ESTABLISHMENT; QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; TERM OF OFFICE.”
Section 55-12, Two (2) members shall be nominated by the County Executive, one (1) member shall be nominated by the Chairman of the Legislature, one (1) member shall be nominated by simple majority vote of the full Legislature, and one (1) member shall be nominated by the Minority Leader of the Legislature. Board members will serve for a two (2) year term, beginning from their date of appointment. Additionally, Section 55-12(H) was added to include detailed requirements of Board of Ethics hearings.
